Litigation Support — We have served as experts in several cases. Most recently we were deposed regarding our expert opinions on portfolio valuations, likely attrition rates, and the probable success of building a co-brand portfolio based on the proven affinity of the co-brand customers and the appeal of the value proposition.

Loan Loss Forecast — CDG Consulting developed loan loss forecasts using 3 forecasting methods. We provided insight into high and low risk segments and showed how the risk profile of the portfolio was changing over time.

Best Practices in Upgrading — We surveyed and then identified and prioritized actionable ways to improve card upgrade programs, including selection criteria, cardholder terms, program objectives, success criteria and retention rates.

Benchmarking — A No Preset Spending Limit Benchmark provided participants with results in Authorizations, Credit, Collections, Marketing and MIS along with actionable recommendations to improve portfolio performance.

Customer Database Design — A large, regional bank needed to build its first customer database. CDG Consulting helped them design a database to meet their crucial business needs. We performed detailed reviews of existing data structures, developed account profitability calculations and determined what data was required in the database. The database will support the bank's marketing and credit policy groups.

Launch Business-to-Business Contact Strategy — A Fortune 500 financial services company sought to expand its customer contact strategies to include telemarketing. The goal was to support promotional programs and to improve awareness and sales penetration in its large customer base. CDG Consulting designed the program metrics and contact strategy, developed the telemarketing scripts, selected the TM vendor and managed the program and related analysis.

New Product Design — We assisted a top-ten US credit card issuer to evaluate the design and targeting strategies for a new product. This product represented a significant departure from the traditional products offered to the customers of a large alliance partner. Based on our past experience with similar target populations and other products we developed pro forma financials based on various product design and targeting scenarios leading to a decision on the final product design and marketing strategy.

Application Underwriting Process — One of the largest US credit card issuers was experiencing significant differences in approval rates in segments of the business due to fraud prevention policy disparities. After analysis CDG Consulting isolated the impact of each policy difference and made policy and process recommendations to speed processing and increase the new account approval rate.

Internet Fraud Prevention — CDG Consulting helped an Internet merchant determine strategies to identify potentially fraudulent transactions and establish efficient and effective processes to authenticate the purchaser. The new approaches will allow this merchant to significantly increase transaction volume without significantly increasing either fraud risk or staffing levels.
